State Farm Measures Driver Safety With Mobile App

February, 2012

State Farm is aiding in safe driving with the development of a mobile (iOS) application that measures drivers habits. The application takes note of the speed of the car, the amount of braking required and cornering to determine the driver’s safety level. For those drivers to aren’t given a high score, State Farm offers tips to help them drive more cautiously. Additionally, the application tracks the trip to point out directly on the route where the driver began their dangerous activities.

Eli Winn, manager of enterprise Internet solutions at State Farm, Bloomington, IL, said “State Farm is a leader in mobile insurance capabilities. We continue to listen to customer feedback and provide tools and capabilities that utilize new technologies. This [mobile application] allows us to provide the best possible customer experience with our mobile offerings.”
